Amapiano is a genre of South African house music that emerged in 2016. Amapiano Music is a hybrid of Jazz, deep house, and lounge music. It is known by its high pitched piano melodies and Kwaito basslines of 90s South African house rhythms. it has Cultural origins of Mid-2010s Gauteng, South Africa. its Typical instruments are Piano, drum, a synthesizer that gives a low tempo.

Origins

Amapiano Music genre is believed to have originated in the Pretoria area. this came about due to bacardi is loud and restricted which gave rise to a new Genre called Amapiano. Most DJs in 2014 refused to play the sound but DJ Mojava took the cause and made it popular by using Pretoria taxi drivers. It is most common in Johannesburg townships, Soweto, Alexandra, Vosloorus, and Katlehong. Most peoples compare Barcadi with Amapiano due to the genre’s similarities.

Amapiano is a Success, it is now being recognized by streaming services like Deezer, Spotify, Apple Music. Amapiano albums now stream Live on Youtube. The Amapiano Live Balcony Mix has recorded the most-streamed Live mix by South Africans. Before Now Amapiano Music is been share with Bluetooth and other data transferring tools from one phone to the other.

Amapiano DJs, Sahubs Believes that The genre is now popularised by popular music DJs who transform hits, jazzy, low-tempo into tracks, in the like of DJ Ganyani, Sun-El Musician, DJ Maphorisa, MajorLeagueDjz, Jazzidisciples, Vigro Deep and Kabza De Small. There are other Upcoming Djs that make an input to the Genre, According the Fans and Fakazavibes, it is believed that Kabza De Small is the king of Amapiano with his unstoppable beats and mix.
